WALKtober being celebrated across Chatham-Kent

The Municipality of Chatham-Kent Parks, Recreation and Cemeteries in partnership with The Chatham-Kent Trails Council, Ontario Parks, and Lower Thames Valley Conservation Authority would like to invite residents to participate in this year’s WALKtober.

The WALKtober Contest takes place from October 1- October 31 of 2021 and encourages residents to rediscover the benefits of walking which improves physical health, promotes independence, relieves the stress after a long day while reducing emissions and air pollution.

WALKtober this year will be a child friendly event and promote physical activity and physical literacy among children. We have 20 prize packs to be won, 5 of which will have additional prizes from Ontario Parks, LTVCA, ReLeaf Chatham-Kent and Rubies featured inside.

How to Enter:

– Download the colouring page from our Municipal Website https://www.chatham-kent.ca/trails and CK Trail Council and CK Trails Social Media Pages.

– Colour the colouring page, fill out the contact information: name, age, community in which you reside in and your favourite trail.

– Take a photo of the colouring page and a second photo of your child holding their colouring page on their favourite trail.

– Send both photos to CKTrails@Chatham-kent.ca.

Each week (4 weeks) 5 winners will be chosen- please submit only once as the winners will be randomly selected from those that enter. Their colouring pages will be featured on the CK Trail Social Media Pages.

What is in the Prize Pack:

– CK Trail Branded Backpack

– CK Trail or CK Public Health Branded Water bottle

– Boston Pizza 5 Free Kids Meal Card

– Trail Themed Playdough Kit from Wild Child Imagination Studio based out of Chatham

– Trail Themed Pom Hat from East Coast Creations based out of Ridgetown

– Going on a Leaf Hunt Book to promote Physical Literacy

– One Free Swim Pass from our Recreation and Community Engagement Services

– CK Trail Booklet and Cycling Information
