Disturbance leads to arrest

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday morning, police responded to a disturbance on Wellington Street West in Chatham.

Through investigation, police learned that one of the men involved was wanted on an outstanding warrant.

A 47-year-old man, of no fixed address, was arrested and released pending a future court date of November 17, 2021.

Man charged with impaired driving

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Shortly after 11 p.m. last night, police responded to a single motor vehicle collision on Centre Side Road near Pioneer Line.

Through investigation, police suspected the man was driving while under the influence of alcohol.

A roadside breath test was conducted and the man failed.

He was arrested and transported to police headquarters for further breath tests.

A 28-year-old Chatham man has been charged with impaired driving.

He was released pending a future court date of November 24, 2021.

Motor vehicle collisions

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday afternoon, police responded to a two-vehicle collision on Merlin Road near Queens Line.

No one was injured.

Total damage was estimated at $10,000.

A 57-year-old Oakville man was charged with failing to yield the right of way.

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday afternoon, police responded to a two-vehicle collision on Park Avenue East between Peter Street and Stirling Lane in Chatham.

No one was injured.

Total damage was estimated at $5,000.

The person responsible for the collision was charged with an offence contrary to the Highway Traffic Act.

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday morning, police conducted traffic enforcement on Longwoods Road in Chatham.

Six motorists were stopped and charged with speeding.
