Increase in daytime crime
Lambton OPP officials allege: Lambton County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and Sarnia Police Service (SPS) have received a number of complaints of break and enters in the Lakeshore Road and Egremont Road areas of the city of Sarnia and Plympton-Wyoming Township.
The recent break and enters have been reported on weekdays and range between 7:30 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. Items taken during the break and enters include jewelry, cash, personal identification, game consoles and electronics.
Suspects have not yet been identified.
Homeowners are urged to secure all doors, windows and vehicles when leaving the house. Crime deterrent devices such as alarm systems and surveillance cameras can be easily obtained and installed for enhanced security.

Impaired by drugs
Lambton OPP officials allege: On October 17, 2021 at 6:45 p.m., members of the Lambton County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) observed a vehicle travelling on Hill Street with its hazard lights activated while keeping up with other traffic. Officers initiated a traffic stop to ensure the wellbeing of the occupants.
Upon speaking with the driver, it was apparent the driver had consumed an intoxicating substance and was displaying signs of impairment.
The driver was arrested and transported to the Lambton OPP detachment where they performed a drug recognition evaluation.
A 30-year-old St. Clair Township man has been charged with the following:
Operation While Impaired.
The accused has been released and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on November 22, 2021.

Impaired driving
Lambton OPP officials allege: On October 12, 2021 at approximately 4:00 p.m., members of the Lambton County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) observed an erratic vehicle blocking traffic on Forest Road.
Officers initiated a traffic stop as the vehicle continued into a private driveway. Upon speaking with the driver, it became apparent the driver had consumed an alcoholic beverage and was displaying signs of impairment. The driver was arrested and transported to the Lambton OPP detachment where they provided two samples of breath above the legal limit.
A 68-year-old Warwick Township man has been charged with the following:
Operation While Impaired and,
Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 Plus).
The accused has been released and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on November 29, 2021.
