CK Hospice hiring Manager of Clinical Operations

relationship-centred environment. This role has been recently expanded to provide innovative
leadership within a Hospice program that provides personal, compassionate, end-of-life care, putting
residents and those they call family and friends first.
The manager has a central role collaborating with the Executive Director to ensure that the program is in
alignment with the organizations vision, mission, values and strategic plan. The manager oversees the
daily operations of the services and care and through their leadership, shapes a culture of compassion,
wellbeing and joy.
Hospice Palliative Care is a philosophy of care which focuses on comfort, quality of life, and supporting
the precious moments families will share with their loved ones during their final days together. In
collaboration and consultation with physicians, multi-disciplinary care team, and volunteers, we support
our residents to live each day with dignity and honour by providing compassionate, end- of-life care in a
home-like setting. Hospice is a signatory partner of the Chatham-Kent Ontario Health Team and the
manager will participate in the evolution of the integration of Chatham-Kent Hospice within the local
health team.

Position Requirements:
• A minimum of a BScN from an accredited University
• Member in good standing with a current Certificate of Registration with the College of Nurses of
Ontario

• CAPCE and LEAP certifications; Canadian Nursing Association Hospice Palliative Care Nurse
Certificate (CHPCN(C)), or commitment to attain
• In-depth knowledge and clinical experience in working with palliative care clients and their
families.
• Minimum of three (3) years management experience including leadership, administration,
supervision of staff and volunteers, program development/evaluation, inventory control, risk
management, health & safety.
• Positive approach to client service and a demonstrated capacity for empathy.
• Knowledge of interdisciplinary patient care processes, commitment to teamwork, and ability to
collaborate effectively.
• Experience in working with a wide variety of community service providers.
• Consultative team-based management style and strong problem-solving skills.
• Effective verbal and written communication and ability to provide clear direction.
• Ability to work independently, to exercise sound judgement, to make appropriate decisions, and
to accept responsibility for outcomes.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• The ability to work flexible hours including days, evenings, weekends, and to participate in the
on-call schedule as needed.
• Ability to provide clinical nursing support as needed.
• Strong computer skills in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
• Valid Driver’s License, use of reliable vehicle, and willingness to travel.
• Provision of a recent (within 6 months) Criminal Record Check (CRC) with a Vulnerable Sector
Check (VSC).
• Effective bilingual (English/French) communication skills, both verbal and written, is an asset.
• As a condition of employment, you are required to submit proof of COVID-19 vaccination to the
