Shoplifting complaint leads to arrest
Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday afternoon, police responded to a shoplifting complaint at a business in the downtown Chatham area.
Officers located the woman a short distance away and she was arrested.
A 34-year-old Chatham man was charged with engaging in prohibited activity as per the Trespass to Property Act.
She was also arrested on an outstanding warrant.
She was released pending a future court date of December 10, 2021.
Man charged with breaching curfew
Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Early this morning, police responded to the report of a suspicious man on the property of a business on McNaughton Avenue in Wallaceburg.
Through investigation, police learned that the man was currently bound by several conditions, including a daily curfew of 5 p.m. to 6 a.m. and not to attend this specific business.
The 24-year-old man, of no fixed address, was arrested and charged with five counts of failing to comply with his release conditions and two counts of failing to comply with his Probation Order.
He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.
Break and enter leads to theft of vehicle
Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Sometime on Tuesday night between 10 p.m. and 11:30 p.m. unknown suspects entered a residence Wedgewood Avenue in Chatham and stole keys to a 2011 blue Dodge Caravan.
The suspects then stole the van, which was last seen with Ontario license plates CKAL187.

Theft of copper wire in Wheatley
Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Sometime since the summer months, unknown suspects forced their way into a fenced property on Zion Road and stole copper wiring from a shed.
