Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: The Chatham-Kent Police are looking for the public’s assistance in identifying this man in connection with a fraud investigation at two different businesses in Chatham:

Stunt driving

Chatham-Kent OPP officials allege: On November 21, 2021 at 03:59 a.m., while on general patrol on Highway 401 near Communication Road, Chatham-Kent OPP performed a traffic stop on a vehicle travelling in excess of 165 km/h in a posted 100km/h zone.

An Approved Screening Device (ASD) was utilized at which point the driver was arrested and transported to a local detachment where further tests were administered.

As a result, a 22-year-old Lakeshore man, has been charged with:

– Race a motor vehicle – Excessive Speed, section 172(1) of the Highway Traffic Act.

– Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus), section 320.14(1)(b) of the Criminal Code of Canada

The accused has been released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice on December 14, 2021 to speak to the charges.

Chatham-Kent OPP wants to remind the public that if you see anything suspicious or suspect an impaired driver you should contact the Ontario Provincial Police or your nearest police authority immediately.
