Family dispute leads to arrest

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On September 8, 2021 a man was released from Court with several conditions.

Two of those conditions stated that he was not to communicate with a specific family member or attend their home in Chatham.

Yesterday morning, the man attended the home and caused a disturbance.

The 26-year-old man, of no fixed address, was arrested and charged with two counts of failing to comply with his release conditions.

He was held in custody pending a bail hearing and released with a future court date of November 25, 2021.

Man charged with being in possession of prohibited weapon

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday afternoon, an officer on general patrol observed a man pushing a car that ran out of gas on Lacroix Street near Park Avenue in Chatham.

Through investigation, the officer learned that the license plates on the vehicle were stolen.

A set of brass knuckles were also observed inside the vehicle.

The 36-year-old Blenheim man was arrested and charged with being in possession of property obtained by a crime under $5,000 and being in possession of a prohibited weapon.

He was released pending a future court date of January 4, 2022.

Man breaches curfew

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Just before 11 p.m. last night, police responded to the report of an unwanted man at a business in Chatham.

Officers located the man and through investigation learned that he was currently bound by a daily curfew of 8 p.m. to 7 a.m.

As the man was placed under arrest, he pulled away from the officer and resisted.

The 25-year-old man, of no fixed address, was taken into custody and charged with failing to comply with his release conditions and resist arrest.

He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Stolen truck in Tilbury

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Sometime early this morning, unknown suspects stole a silver 2002 Ford F-250 truck from a residence on Prospect Street.

The truck was last seen with Ontario license 52F R47.
