The U18 Dresden Jr. Kings White team recently won the Regional Silver Stick Championship in Exeter on November 21, 2021.
The Kings tied their first game 6-6 against Lambton Shores Black team. Goal scorers were Ryan Brophy with three goals, Colton Noah, Connor Ross, and Ahmed Zafar with one each. Picking up assists were Max Lucier and Noah with two each, Alex Wallace, Dylan Badder, Jackson Ross, and Jake Bellamy with one each.
The Kings lost their second game 5-2 to Point Edward. Brayden Tremblay scored both goals with assists going to Kohen Cudney and Brophy with one each.
The Kings won their third game against Strathroy Red 4-1 to qualify for the semi-finals. Goal scorers were Brophy with two and Marty Elliott and Dylan Badder with one each. Picking up assists were Lucier with two, Brody VanMiddlekoop, Williem Seguin, Connor Ross, and Zafar with one each.
In the semi-final game against West Lorne, the Kings held on for a 4-3 win. Goal scorers were Lucier, Elliott, Connor Ross and Tremblay. Picking up assists were Seguin, Tremblay and Noah with two each and singles going to Brophy, Cudney and Wallace. Picking up the win in net was Cody Moulton.
In the finals against Point Edward, the Kings rallied down 3-0 in the third period to tie up game late to force overtime, then won in three-on-three overtime by a score of 4-3. Scoring for the Kings were Noah with two, Seguin with one and Brophy scoring the winner in overtime. Assists went to Wallace, Tremblay, and Brophy with two each and Noah with one. The winning goalie was Maddux Stewart.
The Kings now head to the Canadian Finals from January 6 to January 9 in Pehlam, Ontario.
