Wallaceburg & District Chamber of Commerce

Wallaceburg BIA Award Sponsored by Downtown Wallaceburg BIA.
Congratulations again to the Wallaceburg BIA Award winner Linda Nethery!
Linda Nethery has been a teacher and guidance counsellor at WDSS since 2007, and in 2020 she started a horticulture program at the school. The goals behind the horticulture program were to teach hands-on horticultural skills, the significance of environmental stewardship and sustainability, the importance of nutrition and local food sources and how to build connections in the community. The program quickly grew from 1 to 4 classes, and continues with a special focus on building partnerships within our community. In the past year and a half the horticulture program has worked with over a dozen local organizations including the Wallaceburg BIA and Gardening Club, Westbrook’s Flowers, Sydenham Field Naturalists, St. Clair Conservation Authority, Bluewater Anglers, LKDSB Outdoor Education, Walpole Island First Nations, CK Food Policy, Sipkens Nurseries, Vita Gardens, Lambton Wildlife, and more. Their hope is to improve their school, themselves, and our community through these learning opportunities.
Thank you again to the Wallaceburg BIA for sponsoring this award.
