The photo above is a screen grab from a video of The Great Big Music Gig, held at Wallaceburg District Secondary School in 2002.

Here is what Dave Babbitt had to say about the video/event:

“In 2002, Mike Primeau, originally from Wallaceburg, Ontario, Canada was concerned about the erosion of music education in the schools of Ontario. Our local high school music program was under-funded, under-supported at the Board level and was slowly eroding. Mike had a vision. He knew that creating interest and excitement in elementary school aged children would bode well for the future of instrumental music in Wallaceburg. As a starting point, Mike organized two very large music productions (especially for such a small community) that were intended to draw awareness to the lack of quality music education in our schools, particularly Wallaceburg. He named both of these concerts, “The Great Big Music Gig” and drew on talent from many places, not just Wallaceburg that did two things. 1) Show just how much the ability to participate in music performances brings life-long joy to people and 2) Raise funds to start a free instrumental music program for elementary school-aged children. Being a graduate of the Advanced Television and Film Program at Sheridan College, Mike brought many of his fellow classmates to Wallaceburg with all of the equipment to produce a documentary.
