Immediate Contract Position(s) full or part-time Coordinator(s) – James Street Comfort Centre

719 James Street, Wallaceburg

We are looking for caring, compassionate and empathetic leaders to spearhead and manage
our new drop-in and warming centre! Are you available to start work immediately, willing and
able to work irregular hours, located in the Wallaceburg area and possess the above qualities?
You will be responsible for the overall, day-to-day operations of the centre. This includes
everything from ordering supplies – to maintaining the property – to education and hand out of
harm reduction supplies. This is a hands-on job that requires someone with a passion for
service and ability to co-ordinate and motivate volunteers.
Since you reside in the Wallaceburg area, you are well connected to the network of support
services within the community and surrounding area. You will lead the collaboration between
the Comfort Centre and the community. Your compassion will shine through educating the
community and destigmatizing use of the centre.
Most importantly, you care about persons experiencing homelessness or housing-insecurity by
maintaining a safe and welcoming environment. You have a community reputation for building
relationships and trust with all people, without discrimination or judgment! Your rock-solid
confidentiality and respect for all, is a well-known fact. Your empathy for each and every one
attending the centre will be apparent through providing additional support, information and
links to social services available.
The James Street Comfort Centre is the result of a caring partnership between United Way of
Chatham-Kent, ROCK Missions, Ska:Na Family Learning Centre and the Municipality of CK.
Please email your resume to kair4816@gmail.com, also include a brief cover letter indicating
your hourly wage, availability and desire for full or part-time.
