Woman ‘miraculously’ uninjured after being found in the back of a garbage truck

Sarnia Police Service officials allege: At approximately 6 a.m., this morning, Sarnia Police received an urgent call to attend the area of Afton Drive and Murphy Road along with Sarnia Fire and Lambton Paramedics.

Upon arrival it was determined that a person was in the back of a garbage truck yelling.

Fortunately, a 48-year-old female was extracted from the garbage truck and miraculously did not sustain any injuries.

According to information received by the officer, the driver had picked up a load from a large garbage bin, dumped it into the garbage truck and did not observe anything on the camera which is located inside the garbage truck.

The driver then proceeded to crush the load and head to the next stop which was located in the area of Murphy Road and Afton Drive.

Once there the driver could hear what sounded like someone yelling from the back of the truck.

The camera was checked and to the driver’s surprise a person was observed in the back.

It is believed that the individual had attempted to find shelter in the bin by covering herself with cardboard and thus was not seen on camera.
