Chatham-Kent OPP officials allege: On January 27, 2022 at approximately 9:36 a.m., members from the Chatham-Kent Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) detachment responded to a collision in the eastbound lanes of Highway 401, just west of Bloomfield Road.
Officers arrived on scene and determined two vehicles were involved in the collision.
Two people were transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, and one person was airlifted to hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Highway 401 eastbound is closed and traffic is being detoured at Queen’s Line Road.
The collision is under investigation and additional information will be released as it becomes available.
