Update: Winter weather travel advisory remains in effect

Update at 4:53 p.m. – Winter weather travel advisory in effect for this evening.

Additional snowfall amounts of 4 to 8 cm can be expected by the time the snow comes to an end this evening.

Visibility may be reduced at times due to the moderate snow and local blowing snow, particularly over open areas.

Motorists are advised to exercise caution.

Prepare for quickly changing and deteriorating travel conditions. Be prepared to adjust your driving with changing road conditions. Take extra care when walking or driving in affected areas. Slow down driving in slippery conditions. Watch for taillights ahead and maintain a safe following distance.

Environment Canada says a winter weather travel advisory is in effect for Thursday, February 3, 2022.

“This winter weather travel advisory replaces the snowfall warning previously in effect,” forecasters say.

“After a brief break early this morning, snow is forecast to redevelop near noon today. Additional snowfall amounts of 4 to 8 cm can be expected by the time the snow comes to an end this evening.”

Student Transportation Services officials say all school buses in all zones are cancelled for Thursday once again. However, all schools are open.
