Abandoned vehicle leads to arrest

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On February 9, 2022 police responded to an abandoned vehicle in a field on 16th line.

The driver was located walking away from the vehicle and in possession of the keys.

Through investigation police learned the vehicle had been reported stolen a few days earlier and the man was wanted on outstanding charges from previous incidents.

The 29-year-old Chatham man was arrested and transported to Chatham-Kent Police Headquarters where he was held pending a bail hearing.

Man charged with break and enter

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On January 10, 2022 the man was released by the court with conditions.

The conditions included a curfew, to not communicate with the victim and to not be within 100 meters of any place the victim resides or works.

Last night at approximately 11 p.m. the man breached those conditions by attending the victim’s residence.

Police attended and found the man inside the residence.

It was also learned the man had assaulted the victim during this incident.

The 32-year-old Glencoe man was arrested and charged with break and enter, assault, mischief, and three counts of failing to comply with release order.

He was transported the police headquarters and held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Woman charged with assault with weapon and mischief

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On February 9, 2022 at approximately 12 a.m. police were called to an address in Howard Township for a disturbance.

Police attended and investigated the matter.

As a result, a 68-year-old Howard Township woman was arrested for assault with a weapon and mischief.

She was arrested and released with a future court date of March 22, 2022.
