Sarnia Police Service official allege: Members of the Sarnia Police Service Vice Unit have been conducting a Controlled Drugs and Substance Act investigation for the past several months regarding parties from the Greater Toronto area who were believed to be responsible for supplying large amounts of fentanyl and cocaine in the City of Sarnia.
Members of the drug unit conducted an extensive investigation into the matter, observing numerous drug transactions involving the suspects in this matter.
Furthermore, as the investigation continued officers were able to determine that a residence in Wallaceburg, Ontario, was being used in the trafficking of these drugs.
Sarnia Vice Unit officers requested and were granted a warrant to search a residence on Arnold Street, in Wallaceburg, along with several vehicles.
On Saturday, March 19, 2022, at approximately 5:10 a.m., members of the Sarnia Police Vice Unit, with the assistance of the Sarnia Police Service Emergency Response Team, executed the warrant by making entry into the residence in question.
Once inside, the two suspects were located and taken into custody without incident.
As a result of the search officers located the following items:
– .76 grams of fentanyl with a street value of approximately $200
– 123.8 grams of cocaine with a street value of $14,857
– $9,995 in Canadian currency
The two accused in this matter, a 23-year-old Toronto man and a 21-year-old Ajax man, each face two counts of Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the purpose of trafficking and one count of possession of property obtained by crime over $5000.
Both were held by the Sarnia Police Service for a bail hearing, and have since been released by the courts.
Their first court appearance is scheduled for April 13, 2022, at 9:30 a.m., at the Sarnia Lambton Court House, located at 700 North Christina Street.
