Debra Rice

It is with great sadness that the family of Debra Rice of Wallaceburg, announce her passing at the Sydenham Campus of the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, on Saturday, April 9th, 2022, in her 66th year. Beloved daughter of the late Robert Hillman and Sophia Fletcher (the late George) of Wallaceburg. Beloved wife of Dave. Loving mother of Dana Haggith (Aaron), and Delynn Miller (Dave), and loving stepmother of Brad Rice, and Julie Rice. Proud Nana of Ava, Daylia, Isabella, Alexandria, and Trenton. Dear sister of Kelly Roy (Pierre) of Merlin and predeceased by her brother Gary Hillman (1983).

Deb enjoyed hanging out with her “bffs” Ron and Sandra at their cottage up north and at rabbit dinners. She loved adventures, singing, dancing, a good pair of slippers, sleepovers with her grandbabies, catfish at Cracker Barrel with her hunnie, and girls night dinner and drinks with her daughters, just catching up on life. She will be missed and so will her famous cherry cheesecake, the very best in the world!

Thank-you to all family and friends who celebrated Deb’s final years and helped to create lasting memories with her, and all of us.

She was a great friend to many, and many of you were a great friend to her. Thank-you all for your valuable friendships. Deb fought many health issues in her life, but she was always ready with a smile and “willing to do for you what her hands would allow.”

Family and friends are invited to the Alexander & Houle Funeral Home, 245 Wellington West, Chatham, 519-352-2710, on Wednesday April 13th, 2022, with visiting from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. A memorial service will be conducted from the chapel of the funeral home on Thursday April 14th, 2022, at 2 p.m. with Pastor Brian Horrobin officiating.
