Lord Selkirk Bridge work starting May 2

The Municipality of Chatham-Kent has secured a contractor (Landform Civil Infrastructures Inc.) for the rehabilitation of the span lock for the Lord Selkirk Bridge over the Sydenham River, in the Community of Wallaceburg.

Commencing Monday, May 2, 2022, the Lord Selkirk Bridge over the Sydenham River will be closed daily between the hours of 7 a.m. and 6 p.m., but will open for vehicular and pedestrian traffic after these hours.

The bridge will be closed daily to all vehicular and pedestrian traffic on the east side of the bridge; however, pedestrians will be able to cross on the west side of the bridge during construction.

It is anticipated this work will take approximately five days to complete and a traffic detour will be in place daily for the duration of the work.

Chatham-Kent is committed to working with Landform Civil Infrastructures Inc. to maintain a safe and orderly worksite.

Construction sites have many potential hazards and extreme caution should be taken by adhering to the safety requirements and to stay outside of the construction zones.
