Man arrested on Highway Traffic Act warrant

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On April 23, 2022 at approximately 12:50 p.m. a male from Lambton County was located in Wallaceburg.

The 28-year-old had outstanding warrants for Drive Under Suspension x 2 and Change Lane- Not in Safety and was arrested.

The male was released with a future court date.

Theft of vehicle from Chatham business

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On April 22, 2022 a 33-year-old man was walking past an address on St. Clair St. in Chatham when he entered an unoccupied utility vehicle and fled.

Witnesses to this theft were able to block the suspect’s vehicle and he fled on foot.

Responding Chatham-Kent Police officers were able to quickly apprehend the suspect and despite attempts to conceal his identity the man was identified.

The man was arrested for theft and possession of stolen property over $5,000 and obstruct police.

He was also found to have an outstanding endorsed warrant.

The man was processed on all charges and released with a future court date.

Impaired arrest following collision

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On April 22, 2022 at approximately 11:50 p.m. the Chatham-Kent Police responded to a single motor vehicle collision in Chatham.

A vehicle had jumped the curb of a roundabout at the end of a residential street and became stuck.

Police arrived and found the driver of the vehicle to be intoxicated.

The driver was arrested for impaired operation and transported to Chatham-Kent Police Headquarters to provide breath tests.

On attending booking the driver refused a legal demand to provide breath samples.

The driver was further arrested for refuse to provide a breath sample.

The driver was released when sober with a court date.
