Man arrested for impaired driving

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday evening at 4:10 p.m. emergency personnel responded to a single motor vehicle collision on Colborne Street in Chatham.

The lone occupant was transported to the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance for medical care.

Officers believed the man to be operating the vehicle while under the influence of alcohol.

The man failed to provide a breath sample and was arrested.

A 59-year-old Chatham man was charged with operation of a motor vehicle while impaired and refusal to comply with breath demand.

He was released with conditions and a future court date of May 10, 2022.

Woman arrested for impaired driving

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Early this morning, shortly after midnight emergency personnel responded to a single motor vehicle collision on Longwoods Road in Chatham Township.

Upon investigation police learned the vehicle left the roadway and rolled several times before stopping in a ravine.

The lone woman occupant did not sustain any serious physical injuries.

Officers believed the woman to be operating the vehicle while under the influence of alcohol.

She was arrested and transported to the Ontario Provincial Police station for further breath tests.

A 23-year-old London woman was arrested for impaired driving and having a blood alcohol concentration level exceeding the legal limit.

She was released with conditions and a future court date of May 24, 2022.

Man charged with a drug trafficking offence

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Sunday night at 7:26 p.m. police conducted a traffic stop on McNaughton Avenue in Wallaceburg.

Police learned the driver had a suspended driver’s license and observed an open can of an alcoholic beverage in the driver’s door.

Upon further investigation a significate quantity of suspected methamphetamine was also found in the console.

A 37-year-old Wallaceburg man was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance with the purpose of trafficking.

He was transported to police headquarters and later released with conditions and a future court date of May 26, 2022.

Man arrested for impaired driving

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Sunday night at 8:20 p.m. emergency personnel responded to a single motor vehicle collision on Baldoon Road in Dover Township.

Through investigation police learned a 2010 Dodge Journey was travelling on Baldoon Road when the driver lost control, the vehicle left the roadway and struck a hydro pole.

Police believed the man was operating the vehicle while under the influence of alcohol and he was arrested.

The man was transported to police headquarters for further breath tests.

The driver and lone occupant, a 49-year-old Dover Centre man was charged with having a blood alcohol concentration exceeding the legal limit.

He was released with conditions and a future court date of May 24, 2022.
