Michael Vanden Bossche

It is with sad and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Michael Allen “Chico” Vanden Bossche, a resident of Wallaceburg, who passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 12, 2022 from the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, in Chatham, at the age of 79.

Mike was born in Chatham, Ontario and was a son of the late Albert and Leato (McDonald) Vanden Bossche.

Beloved husband of the late Catherine Anne (DeRoeven) Vanden Bossche.

Loving father of Theresa Childs, Bridget (Rodger) Riordan and Marc Vanden Bossche.

He will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by his grandchildren Josh (Samantha), Jake, Jordan, Emma, Cameron and Connor and 2 great grandchildren Benjamin and Olivia.

Sadly missed by his companion and best friend, Muriel Delorme.

Kind and loving brother of Laurie (Joe) Silveira, Peter Vanden Bossche and brother-in-law of Sandy DeRoeven and Sarah DeRoeven.

Predeceased by his sister Patricia “Sis” (the late Jack) Chandler.

Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

We wish to send a special thank you to all the doctors, nurse practitioners, nurses and all those who tended to our Dad in the PCU at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance in Chatham.

The late Mike “Chico” Vanden Bossche is resting at the Eric F. Nicholls Funeral Home, 639 Elgin Street, Wallaceburg.

Cremation has taken place.

Family and friends will be received on Tuesday, May 17, 2022 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. with the service immediately following visitation at 1 p.m., all from the funeral home. As a tribute to Chico please wear your favourite teams jersey or shirt. He was an avid sports fan always cheering on his Yankees and Red Wings.

Interment of ashes in Riverview Cemetery.

As an expression of sympathy, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Diabetes Association may be left at the funeral home.
