Alzheimer Society of Chatham-Kent raises $47,000 with their annual walk

The Alzheimer Society of Chatham-Kent (ASCK) has logged their final steps and now they are skipping with joy as they have reached a new fundraising milestone.

For this year’s IG Wealth Management Walk for Alzheimer’s, ASCK raised over $47,000.

While ASCK did not meet their fundraising goal this year, they are anything but disappointed as the real goal is to improve upon last year’s total and they did exactly that by 12%.

Not only did ASCK see an increase in donations this year, but they also saw an increase in participation, organizers say.

They attribute this to the new format that they offered this year for the walk.

After two years of strictly virtual walks, ASCK expanded their reach by offering four weekly outdoor walks across Chatham-Kent.

This format may be offered again next year but on a bigger scale.

“ASCK could not have achieved this new fundraising milestone without the tremendous support from their walkers, their in-kind sponsors, and their local sponsors: Alexander & Houle Funeral Home, John D. Bradley Convention Centre, Maple Mutual Insurance, Monarch Basics, Fairfield Park, Dillon Consulting, Howard Mutual Insurance, and Chatham Honda,” organizers say.

“All funds will stay in Chatham-Kent and directly support the 1,000+ clients and care partners that ASCK serves every year. Donations will ensure they have access to vital programs and services such as the Day Program, In-Home Respite Care, First Link Care Navigation and Education Programs.”
