Woman charged with domestic related offences
Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday morning, police responded to a domestic disturbance in Chatham.
Through investigation, police learned that a woman slapped, punched and cut a man with a broken piece of a fan.
The 20-year-old Chatham woman was located by police and arrested.
She was charged with three counts of assault and one count of assault with a weapon.
She was later released from custody with conditions and a future court date.
Collision leads to impaired driving charges
Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday around 4:30 p.m., police responded to a single motor vehicle collision in Chatham.
Through investigation, police believed the man was driving while under the influence.
The 20-year-old Merlin man was arrested and transported to police headquarters for tests.
Following breath analysis, it was determined the man had a blood alcohol level exceeding the legal limit of 80mg of alcohol in 100mL of blood.
The man was later released from custody with a future court date of June 22nd, 2022.
Pair charged with domestic related offences
Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday evening, police responded to a domestic disturbance at a residence in Chatham.
Through investigation, police learned that a verbal argument escalated into a physical altercation where a man kicked and caused damaged to a woman’s vehicle.
The woman in turn damaged the man’s vehicle with a baseball bat.
The man then pushed the woman to the ground where she gouged his eyes.
The 33-year-old Chatham man was arrested and charged with assault and mischief.
The 33-year-old Chatham woman was arrested and charged with assault and mischief.
Both the man and woman were later released from custody with conditions and a future court date of July 15th, 2022.
Man arrested after collision
Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On June 11, 2022 at approximately 5:45 a.m., Chatham-Kent Emergency Services responded to a single vehicle collision in Chatham.
The vehicle had left the roadway and damaged a utility pole.
A 20-year-old man was operating the vehicle and was arrested at the scene for impaired operation of a motor vehicle.
Following breath analysis it was determined the accused had a blood alcohol level exceeding the legal limit of 80mg of alcohol in 100mL of blood.
The accused was released from custody with a future court date.
Bail violation leads to arrest
Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On June 10, 2022 at approximately 10:40 p.m., members of the Chatham-Kent Police observed a 51-year-old man operating a motor vehicle in Chatham.
The subject was known to be under house arrest conditions and did not appear to be in the presence of his bail surety.
A traffic stop was coordinated and executed successfully.
The man was arrested for failing to comply with a release order and held pending a bail hearing.
