Woman arrested for assault

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: At 1:23 p.m. yesterday, police began an assault investigation that had occurred on Sunday, June 12, 2022, on Wallace Street in Wallaceburg.

Through investigation, police learned the woman and man were in a verbal argument that escalated when the woman struck the man in the face.

The 23-year-old Wallaceburg woman was located, arrested and charged with assault.

She was transported to police headquarters and later released with conditions and a future court date of July 13, 2022.

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Last night at 11:24 p.m., police responded to a disturbance at an apartment building on Talbot Street West in Blenheim.

The man was banging on numerous doors and attempting to enter apartments.

Upon arrival, police learned the man was trespassed from the building several times and was hiding in an apartment closet where he was not welcome.

As police attempted to remove the man, he became assaultive towards the police.

The man pushed one officer and struck another with a closed fist.

The 37-year-old Bothwell man was charged with failing to leave the premise when directed, resisting arrest and assaulting a police officer.

He was transported to police headquarters and held pending a bail hearing.
