Applications being accepted for ‘Not Just A Handyman’ program

Applications are open for the Prosperity Roundtable’s new training and employment project, Not Just A Handyman.

Designed to support young people looking to explore the trades, this new project will have young people build their confidence in using different tools safely, get exposed to different trade opportunities, and become prepared to start their journey in the trades.

Applications for the two summer cohorts are now open.

“We have limited spots for June 27th to July 14th and are open for July 25th to August 11th,” organizers say.

“Applications close June 22nd. This 3-week training pays youth to learn foundational skills, and connects them with local businesses who are hiring. After the three weeks, trainees will have tons of opportunities to participate in networking events, workshops that grow their skills, unique employment opportunities, and supports to continue education in the trades.”

William, Trades and Youth Mentor for the Prosperity Roundtable, said “I’m really excited to be launching this project in our community. We have heard from a lot of young people, and it is great to see how passionate they are about entering the trades.”
