Police: Impaired driving in Dresden, warrant arrest in Chatham

Male charged with operation while impaired in Dresden

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On June 18, around 9 p.m., police received a call from a passerby who observed a vehicle pulled to the side of the road in the area of North St., where the male driver appeared unresponsive.

It was learned the male had been consuming alcohol and had pulled over to sleep.

After registering a “fail” on the approved screening device, the male was taken into custody and transported to Headquarters for breath tests, where he was charged with Operation While Impaired – 80 plus.

The 59-year-old male was issued 90 day license suspension, his vehicle was impounded for seven days and was released from custody with a future court date.

Male arrested on warrants in Chatham

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On June 19, 2022, shortly after 3 a.m., police located a 34-year-old male in the area of Tecumseh Park, who was wanted by police for failing to attend court.

He was arrested and released with a future court date.
