Lambton OPP officials allege: The deceased individual has been identified as Clifton Tooshkenig, of Walpole Island First Nation.
On June 20, 2022 at 11:30 p.m., members of Walpole Island Police Service and Lambton County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded, along with Chatham-Kent Emergency Medical Service and Walpole Island Fire Department, to the report of a pedestrian that had been struck by a vehicle on Chief’s Road.
The individual was transported to hospital where they were later pronounced deceased.
The investigation is ongoing and further updates will be provided when they become available.
