Canada Day 2022 celebrated in Wallaceburg (Photos)

Canada Day was celebrated in Wallaceburg on Friday, July 1, 2022 with a variety of activities held at the Kinsmen Community Centre.

The Wallaceburg Canada Day committee board members, include:

– Chair: Leesa Ervin

– Vice Chair: Penny Kirk

– Secretary: Jessica Poirier

– Treasurer: Jennifer Kerwin

Free kid’s activities were held, including glitter tattoos, face painting, flamingo toss, duck pond game and a Canada Day photo booth.

Ervin was joined by Chatham-Kent Mayor Darrin Canniff, along with Wallaceburg Councillors Carmen McGregor and Aaron Hall, for a cake cutting ceremony and some children in attendance joined them to sing the national anthem.

The winners of the colouring contest and the best dressed home or business, were also announced.

The festivities also included a performance by the Dragon Elite Gymnastics and Cheer Team, some musical entertainment and vendors inside as well.

The PWSA Girls Baseball Team also held a fundraising barbecue.
