Boil water advisory issued for parts of Dresden

The Chatham-Kent Public Utilities Commission (PUC) issued a boil water advisory for parts of Dresden on Wednesday, August 10, 2022.

PUC officials say the advisory was issued to all consumers of the Chatham-Kent Municipal Drinking Water System in Dresden located at:

– 786 Wellington Street

– 749 Peel Street

– 1, 4 Stephen Line

– 304 to 596 Sydenham Street

– 29363 to 29075 Hughes Road

– 29031 Hughes Road to 11194 Base Line

– 29061 to 29342 Dawn Mills Road

– 11111, 11118, 11123 Grove Mills Road

“CK Public health is advising residents to bring water to a rolling boil for at least one minute prior to using it for domestic purposes, (for example) drinking, making infant formula and juice, brushing teeth, washing raw foods and making ice,” PUC officials said on social media.

“The reason for the boil water advisory is due to an adverse water sample. This advisory measure is in place until the Health Unit receives good results from two consecutive sets of samples taken a minimum of 24 hours apart.”
