Four candidates join the election race in Ward 4 – North Kent

Four new candidates have filed their papers and will be on the ballot for Ward 4 – North Kent in the upcoming Chatham-Kent Municipal Election.

Scott Kilbride, Jim Konecny, Jason Sayer and Steven Scott filed nomination papers over the last few days.

The four candidates join Rhonda Jubenville and incumbent Jamie McGrail on the ballot.

The six candidates will be vying for one of two spots on Municipal Council representing North Kent.

Veteran North Kent Councillor Joe Faas has stated publicly that he will not be running for re-election in 2022.

“The nomination period for the 2022 election (began) May 2 and ends August 19, 2022,” Municipal officials say.

“Individuals wishing to register as candidates in the 2022 municipal election must ensure their nomination papers are filed within this window and cannot begin their campaign until papers are filed with the Clerk’s Office.”
