Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Queens Line between Sinclair Road and Bonneau Line will be closed for a Motor Vehicle Collision.

Man arrested for assault

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday at 9:07 a.m., police attended a home on Chatham Street South in Blenheim for a disturbance.

Through investigation, police learned the man and his mother were involved in a verbal argument outside the residence.

The argument escalated when the man began damaging property and assaulting his mother.

A passerby witnessed the assault and intervened, and the witness was also assaulted.

The man was arrested and transported to police headquarters.

While in custody, the man caused further mischief in the holding cell and assaulted a police officer.

The 19-year-old Blenheim man was charged with two counts of mischief, two counts of assault and one count of assaulting a police officer.

He was held pending a bail hearing.

Man arrested for assault and uttering threats

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On August 11, 2022, police responded to Emma Street in Chatham for a disturbance.

Police learned the man was banging on the door of the business, claiming he had an appointment.

The man broke the ‘open’ button on the door.

When approached by security, the man attempted to strike them and utter comments to harm them.

The man left the area before the police arrived.

On August 16, 2022, at 5:10 a.m. police located and arrested the man on St. Clair Street in Chatham.

The 31-year-old Chatham-Kent man was charged with mischief, assault, and threatening to cause death.

He was transported to police headquarters and held pending a bail hearing.
