OPP conduct aerial enforcement along the 401

OPP officials allege: The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) continue to work hard to keep Ontario’s highways and roadways safe for all who use them.

Between August 15 and August 16, 2022, OPP Aviation Services, the West Region Traffic Incident Management and Enforcement (TIME) team, along with Essex County OPP, Chatham OPP and Elgin County OPP conducted aerial enforcement along the 401 Highway.

Overall, 25 charges were laid between the two days.

One driver was charged with Stunt driving, losing their car for 14 days and driver’s license for 30 days.

Another 15 drivers were charged with speeding and two drivers were found to be suspended drivers and were subsequently charged.

Also, three commercial motor vehicle operators were charged with following too closely.

The OPP would like to remind all drivers that keeping an appropriate distance between vehicles on the roadways and obeying the speed limit can help prevent serious motor vehicle collisions.

Road safety starts with you.
