COVID-19 outbreak declared over at CKHA’s Medicine B Unit

Chatham-Kent Health Alliance (CKHA) officials say they are pleased to share that the COVID-19 outbreak declared on Medicine B Unit at the Chatham Site on August 5, 2022 has been declared over by CK Public Health.

“CKHA would like to thank CK Public Health for their guidance and support during this outbreak, and the hospital’s staff and physicians for their continued commitment to providing safe, high quality care under these difficult circumstances,” hospital officials said in a media release.

“Infection Prevention and Control measures will remain in place across the organization and CKHA will continue to review and monitor the impact of the pandemic on its operations. CKHA’s Essential Visitor and Care Partner Access policy remains in Phase 3 “Green.” With the outbreak declared over on Medicine B, this unit will revert back to Phase 3 “Green” restrictions. Please see CKHA’s website for further details on visiting restrictions. Questions or concerns about visitor restrictions can be directed to the primary nurse and/or Patient Relations.”

CKHA is reminding the community that the hospital remains a safe place to receive care.

“If you are experiencing an emergent acute care need, please do not hesitate to dial 911 or visit your nearest Emergency Department,” CKHA officials added.
