Man arrested for fraud related charges

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On September 16, 2022, a woman contacted police to report that her vehicle had been entered overnight and her debit card was stolen.

The debit card was then used at a business in Chatham.

Through investigating, police were able to identify the accused.

Yesterday, just shortly after 8 a.m., Police received a call of a suspicious person on St Clair St.

As a result, the male was located and arrested.

A Chatham man was arrested and charged with Fraud Under $5,000, Use Stolen Credit Card and being is Possession of Stolen Property Under $5,000.

He was later released with a future court date.

Man and woman charged with assault

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday morning, at approximately 11 a.m., police were called to an address in Wallaceburg in regards to a disturbance taking place.

Once police de-escalated the two involved parties, investigation revealed that both had been assaulted.

Both were arrested and charged with one count of assault and further investigation revealed that the woman involved would also be charged with mischief under $5,000 and several bail violations.

The male party involved is set to appear in court on November 14, 2022 and the woman was held pending a bail hearing.

Woman arrested on outstanding warrant

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday, shortly after 2 p.m., police located a woman on King Street West in Chatham.

A query of the female revealed that she had an outstanding warrant for failing to attend court on the charges of theft and possession under $5,000.

The woman was held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Man arrested for assault

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday evening, shortly after 6 p.m., police were called to a residence in the city of Chatham in regards to an assault complaint.

As a result of the investigation, a 75-year-old man was charged with one count of assault.

He was later released with a future court date of October 24, 2022.
