Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Yesterday afternoon, around 4 p.m. the Chatham-Kent Police Service were notified that a man had arrived at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance with life-threatening injuries.
Through investigation, police learned that the victim, a 28-year-old man was involved in an altercation with another man at a residence on Colborne Street in Chatham.
Despite life-saving efforts, the victim was pronounced deceased at the hospital.
A short time later, police identified and located the man responsible.
The 35-year-old man has been charged with 2nd Degree Murder and remanded into custody until October 11, 2022.
This is an isolated incident and there is no concern for public safety.
Members of the Major Crime Section are continuing their investigation.
