The Municipality of Chatham-Kent’s Parks, Recreation and Cemeteries division, in partnership with Chatham-Kent Libraries, is inviting all residents to participate in WALKtober.
“WALKtober takes place from October 1- October 31 and encourages residents to enjoy the benefits of walking which include improving physical health, promotes independence, relieves stress, and has positive impacts on our environment by reducing emissions and air pollution,” Municipal officials say.
“While engaging the community to utilize the trails and pathways throughout Chatham-Kent we are encouraging residents to walk down to their local libraries; where they can pick up a free set of florescent arm bands to help illuminate while you walk as the sun goes down.”
Get those steps in as you make your way over to your local library while supplies last, Municipal officials added.
