Police: WDSS B&E investigation ongoing, warrants, bail violations

Break and enter at WDSS

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Sometime between 4:30 p.m. on October 19, 2022, and 8:20 a.m. on October 20, 2022, unknown parties attended Wallaceburg District Secondary School, pried open a classroom window, and removed approximately $3,000 worth of tools and items inside.

Warrants

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: At around 3:30 p.m., general uniformed officers in Chatham were on King Street patrolling and observed a male who they believed had a warrant for his arrest.

Officers stopped and queried the male and found that indeed he had a warrant.

A 34-year-old Chatham man was placed under arrested for the warrant.

When officers searched the male, he had a small amount of narcotics on him.

An additional charge of possession of a controlled substance was added.

Officers transported him to the Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters where he was released with a future court date.

Bail violations

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: Shortly before 11 p.m. on October 20, 2022 police received information that a male was at an address in Wallaceburg where he was on conditions not to attend.

Officers were able to locate the male a short distance away where he was placed under arrest for breaching his release order.

The 34-year-old Wallaceburg man was transported to the Chatham-Kent Police Service Headquarters and held for bail.
