Murder investigation launched in Chatham

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On October 21 2022, at approximately 10:45 p.m., the Chatham-Kent Police Service attended an address on Richmond Street in Chatham in regards to a disturbance. 

A male youth was located with serious injuries and transported to hospital. 

Despite life saving efforts the victim was pronounced deceased.

Through investigation a male youth was identified, arrested and charged with Second Degree Murder.

He was remanded into custody with a future court date.

Due to the ages of the parties involved there will be no further information released at this time.

This is an isolated incident and there is no concern for public safety.

Members of the Major Crime Section are continuing their investigation.
