CKHA launches ‘Our Hospital Our Future: Wallaceburg Site Redevelopment’ community engagement opportunity

The Chatham-Kent Health Alliance (CKHA) has announced the recent launch of the official name and branding of the Wallaceburg Site Redevelopment project – ‘Our Hospital Our Future: Wallaceburg Site Redevelopment’.

Following the announcement of the project name and branding, CKHA has created a community initiative to encourage residents of Chatham and rural Kent to engage in the Wallaceburg Site Redevelopment project.

“CKHA is encouraging community members to consider the question, ‘What does ‘Hospital’ mean to you?’,” hospital officials said in a media release on Monday, November 7, 2022.

“Residents of the Chatham-Kent community that are interested in participating in this engagement opportunity are asked to visit www.OurHospitalOurFuture.com to submit a response to the question. This information can be found on the homepage of the website as well as under ‘Community Engagement’.”

CKHA officials say the Wallaceburg Site Redevelopment project is currently in Stage 2: Functional Program of the Capital Planning Process.

“This Functional Program consists of a thorough review of the workload, staffing, and volumes of the proposed Emergency Department and Medicine beds, Diagnostic Imaging, and Laboratory, to determine a detailed list of space requirements,” hospital officials say.

“The Functional Program is set to be submitted to the Ministry of Health by the end of this year.”
