Wind warning issued across Chatham-Kent

Envrionment Canada has issued a wind warning across Chatham-Kent.

“Strong winds Saturday morning into Saturday afternoon,” forecasters say.

“This wind warning replaces the special weather statement previously in effect.”

Environment Canada officials added: “Westerly winds gusting to 90 km/h are expected Saturday morning into Saturday afternoon in the wake of a strong cold front. Winds are expected to ease from west to east Saturday evening.”

Forecasters say gusty winds can damage soft shelters, tents and awnings at outdoor events.

Loose objects may be tossed by the wind and cause injury or damage.

“Utility outages may occur,” Environment Canada officials say.
