Update: Shooting in Wallaceburg

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: At approximately 7 a.m., the Chatham-Kent Police Service responded to the area of Murray Street and Earl Street in Wallaceburg to investigate a disturbance.

Through investigation, police learned that the victim, a 42-year-old man, was involved in an altercation with the suspect(s) and, as a result, was shot with a firearm.

The victim was transported to the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance with serious injuries.

Members of the Major Crime Section continue to investigate and ask that anyone with video surveillance in the areas of Murray Street, Wallace Street and Earl Street to please contact police.

This is an isolated incident, and there is no concern for public safety.
