Police: Assault, failing to attend court, breach of probation

Man arrested for intimate partner violence

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On January 15, 2023, at 7:54 p.m., police responded to Park Avenue East for a domestic disturbance.

Through investigation, police learned the man entered the victim’s residence and refused to leave when directed.

The situation escalated to a physical altercation when the man picked the victim up and dropped her to the floor in an attempt to take the victim’s cell phone from her.

The man left before the police arrived.

The man was bound by conditions of a release order not to communicate with the victim or be in her home.

A warrant was issued with the man could not be located.

On January 16, 2023, at 8:34 a.m., police located and arrested the man.

The 34-year-old Chatham man was charged with assault and two counts of failing to comply with a release order.

He was transported to police headquarters and held pending a bail hearing.

Man arrested for failing to attend court

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: At 10:34 a.m., while on general patrol, police located the man on Wallace Street in Wallaceburg and confirmed he was wanted on an outstanding warrant for failing to attend court.

The 35-year-old Chatham-Kent man was arrested and transported to police headquarters.

He was held pending a bail hearing.

Man arrested for breach of probation

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: At 6:24 p.m., police visited a Holden Street home in Dresden to investigate a probation order violation.

Police received information the man was on conditions not to be at the address or in communication with the homeowner.

The man was also wanted on an outstanding warrant held by London Police Service.

Police attended and located the man inside the residence.

He was arrested and transported to police headquarters.

The 39-year-old Dresden man was charged with two counts of failing to comply with a probation order.

He was released to the London Police Service with conditions and a future court date of March 6, 2023.
