All Ontario Farmers Curling Bonspiel taking place in Wallaceburg this weekend

The 36th annual All Ontario Farmers Curling Bonspiel is set to take place from January 20th to 22nd at the Sydenham Community Curling Club (SCCC) in Wallaceburg. After a two-year hiatus due to COVID-19, there is a major build-up of energy and excitement for the competition and all the fun that the bonspiel provides.

Organizers say 28 teams from across Ontario will be traveling to participate in the three-day event, competing for a prize board worth over $15,000 dollars, with the first place team taking home a cash prize of $3,000 provided by Waddick Fuels. The event also has the support of a wide range of agricultural businesses as sponsors.

But the real attraction of the event is the good time provided by a dedicated committee of volunteers from the organizing committee, lead by Jerry Meyskens, and non-farm members of the SCCC. This includes all meals for the three-day event, entertainment on Friday and Saturday nights, shuttle vans to transport out-of-town curlers to and from their hotels, and even tractor races! It’s an event that you have to see to believe.

The All Ontario Farmers Curling Bonspiel is an open event, so everyone is welcome to drop by the club and be a part of the fun, organizers say.
