Mrs. Mariette Cornelius, a resident of Wallaceburg, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 27, 2023 at Riverview Gardens, in Chatham, at the age of 98.
Mariette was born in Belgium and was a daughter of the late Frank and Helena (Adriaens) Devillaer.
Beloved wife of the late Maurice Cornelius (1998).
Loving mother and mother in law of Cathy (Rudy) Oldewening and Janet Cornelius. Predeceased by her son Barry Cornelius.
Sadly missed by her grandchildren Chad (Monica) Cornelius, Jodi (Mark) Gander, Matthew Oldewening, Alison (Shawn) Johnston, Jennifer Oldewening, her great grandchildren Chelsea (Quincy), Christopher (Hannah), Shaina (Matt), Derek, Jessica (Lyndon), Brendan (Madi) Brady, Noah, Caden and her great great grandchildren Ella and Grayson.
Kind sister of Robert DeVillaer.
Predeceased by her brother Neil.

The late Mariette Cornelius rested at the Eric F. Nicholls Funeral Home Ltd., 639 Elgin Street, in Wallaceburg.
Following her wishes, cremation will take place.
