Woman arrested for failing to attend court

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On November 26, 2022, police responded to a theft investigation at Walmart on St. Clair Street in Chatham.

Through investigation, the woman was arrested, charged with theft and possession of the stolen property, and released with a court date.

When the woman failed to attend court as per her release, a warrant was issued for her arrest.

On February 21, 2023, at 8:50 a.m., the 32-year-old Chatham woman attended Chatham-Kent Police headquarters and turned herself in to the police.

The woman was arrested and held pending a bail hearing.

Man arrested on an outstanding warrant

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: At 2:05 p.m., police conducted a traffic stop on Dufferin Avenue in Wallaceburg.

It was learned the passenger was wanted on an outstanding warrant held by the Ontario Provincial Police, Essex detachment.

The 35-year-old Lakeshore man was arrested and transported to Tilbury, where he was turned over to the Essex OPP.

Man arrested for intimate partner violence

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: At 11:19 a.m., police responded to Lorne Avenue in Chatham for a domestic disturbance.

Through investigation, the police learned the man was on a release condition not to communicate with a woman.

On February 21, 2023, the woman received several items, including a handwritten card from the man.

At 8:10 p.m. the 27-year-old Chatham man turned himself into the police.

He was arrested and charged with failing to comply with an undertaking.

He was transported to police headquarters and released with conditions and a future court date of March 27, 2023.

Man arrested for impaired driving

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: At 10:27 p.m., police responded to a single motor vehicle collision on Talbot Trail in Raleigh Township.

Through investigation, the first officer on the scene believed that the man was driving his vehicle while under the influence of alcohol, and he was arrested.

The man was transported to police headquarters for breath tests.

A 21-year-old Kingsville man has been charged with refusing to provide a breath sample.

He has been released with conditions pending a future court date of March 6, 2023.
