Schools buses cancelled in all zones, some schools are closed as well

Schools buses in all zones are cancelled today, Wednesday, February 22, 2023, due to the forecasted conditions.

Lambton-Kent District School Board officials say all elementary schools are open to students.

“All Lambton Kent District School Board secondary students, regardless of whether they ride a bus to school or not, will engage in one-day remote, teacher-led virtual learning today (Feb. 22) and the secondary schools will be closed to students for in-person learning,” public school board officials say.

“All secondary teachers have been asked to develop an online presence to facilitate student learning, public school board officials say.

“On bus cancellation dates, secondary students will receive instructions about their transition to remote, teacher-led virtual learning as per their typical means of communication. If parents/guardians have a specific question about their child, please contact their school principal.”

All St. Clair Catholic schools are open today.

“Please be advised that buses in all Zones (1,2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8) are cancelled today due to Environment Canada’s forecast for freezing rain later today,” Catholic school board officials say.

“Teachers at all schools will be available through their learning management systems to provide asynchronous learning for any students who are unable to attend school and who wish to participate.”

Buses have been cancelled for the day at Bkejwanong Kinomaagewgamig on Walpole Island.

“The school is still open but please monitor weather conditions as they worsen today,” Walpole school officials say.

“BK may have to close the school early. Announcements will be made on our Facebook page.”

Wallaceburg Christian School is closed for the day.

“Buses are cancelled today due to weather conditions, therefore school is cancelled as well,” Wallaceburg Christian School officials say.

A freezing rain warning remains in place across the region.
