Man arrested for breaching a conditional sentence

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On December 19, 2022, the man was placed on a conditional sentence which included a condition to present himself at the door upon request of a peace officer.

On March 22, 2023, police attended the man’s home in relation to an investigation.

The man failed to present himself when requested, thus breaching the conditional sentence, and a warrant was issued for his arrest.

On March 27, 2023, the man attended Chatham-Kent Police headquarters and turned himself in to the police.

The 28-year-old Chatham man was arrested and held pending a bail hearing.

Man arrested for assault and theft

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On March 27, 2023, while on general patrol, the man was located on Grand Avenue West in Chatham.

Police were familiar with the man from previous incidents and confirmed he was wanted on three outstanding warrants.

The three warrants resulted from an assault investigation reported on March 7, 2023, and two theft investigations reported on January 24 and 28, 2023.

The 27-year-old Chatham-Kent man was charged with failing to comply with an undertaking, uttering threats, assault with a weapon, two counts of assault causing bodily harm, two counts of theft and two counts of possessing stolen property.

He was transported to police headquarters and held pending a bail hearing.

Woman arrested on bench warrant

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On October 5, 2022, police began investigating a breach of a court order investigation.

Through investigation, police learned the woman was ordered to pay restitution to an individual concerning a peach bond but was failing to do so.

The woman was arrested and issued a court date.

When she failed to attend court, a warrant was issued for her arrest.

On March 27, 2023, at 7:15 p.m., the woman was located on Wellington Street East in Chatham and arrested.

The 40-year-old Chatham woman was charged with failing to attend court and released with a new court date.
