Flying Squirrel opening indoor trampoline park in Chatham-Kent

Flying Squirrel Sports has announced that they will be opening a state-of-the-art indoor trampoline park in Chatham-Kent.

Municipality of Chatham-Kent officials say this 42,000 square foot facility will feature an indoor trampoline facility, rock wall, zip lines, arcade, restaurant, and a first-of-its-kind sensory room in a planned partnership with the Children’s Treatment Centre of Chatham-Kent.

“I am excited to announce that the Tatro Group of Companies have partnered with Cody & Luke Schueler and their team from the Flying Squirrel to bring a 42,000 square foot exciting, innovative & inclusive facility to Chatham-Kent, a literal indoor acre of fun,” stated Don Tetrault, local investor and president of Tatro Group, in a press release.

“The Chatham Flying Squirrel will bring the latest attractions, technologies and cutting-edge designs from the industry leader in entertainment centres to Chatham Kent and I am excited to see the joy this facility will bring to the children, teenagers, young adults and caregivers of our community. I want to thank our partners, my staff, Mayor Darrin Canniff, and the Municipality of Chatham-Kent for the hard work done and still to be done to make this dream a reality.”

The new facility will be located at 730 Richmond St. in Chatham and construction is commencing immediately, Municipal officials say.

It is slated to be open in September and will employ between 35-40 people of all ages and experience levels.

“With Chatham-Kent’s growth on such a steep incline, there has been a distinct need for more family-orientated activities in our community,” stated Mayor Canniff, in a media release.

“This investment by Flying Squirrel and Tatro Group is truly an exciting development for the future of CK. This will be an inclusive place where kids, families and caregivers from all over Ontario and beyond can make lasting memories in Chatham-Kent.”

Chatham-Kent’s new location joins Flying Squirrel Sports’ other facilities operating in Calgary, Hamilton, London, Ottawa, Victoria, Winnipeg and Whitby, Municipal officials say.

Chatham-Kent’s location will be one of the largest in Canada and will have the most modern accommodations to date in a Flying Squirrel facility.

We are thrilled to open this facility to provide Chatham a unique experience unlike any other entertainment in the area. When family-orientated investments like come to the community, it’s an indicator that Chatham-Kent is investing in its future, said Stuart McFadden, Director of Chatham-Kent Economic Development and Tourism Services.

“As Chatham-Kent grows and continues to attract new residents, workers, and families, it will be investments such as this that not only keep people here, but also attract new residents and investments to our community,” McFadden said, in a media release.

“Flying Squirrel will be a great attraction for the people of CK and will also be a fantastic driver of tourism dollars into Chatham-Kent.”
