Man arrested for failing to attend court

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: At 8:06 p.m., an officer observed the man on Lacroix Street in Chatham while on patrol.

The officer recognized the man from previous encounters.

The officer confirmed a warrant was outstanding for the man and arrested him.

The 33-year-old Chatham man was charged with failing to attend court.

He was transported to police headquarters and released with a future court date of May 15, 2023

Youth arrested for dangerous driving

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On April 30, 2023, at 10:39 p.m., police located the youth on Fifth Street in Chatham.

Police confirmed the youth was wanted for an incident on March 25, 2023, involving a motor vehicle collision.

The 17-year-old Chatham youth was charged with dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, taking a motor vehicle without consent and driving without a license.

They were transported to police headquarters and released with a future court date of May 22, 2023.

Man arrested for breaching a probation order

Chatham-Kent Police Service officials allege: On May 1, 2023, at 12:29 a.m., police responded to Baird Avenue in Chatham for a family dispute.

Upon arrival, police located the man inside a family member’s residence.

Police confirmed the man entered a probation order in October 2022 with conditions not to communicate or be within 100 metres of this family member.

The man was arrested.

The 39-year-old Chatham-Kent man was transported to police headquarters and released on a future court date of May 15, 2023
