OPP officials allege: On May 21, 2023, at 7 a.m., members of the Lambton County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) observed the driver of a motor vehicle asleep at the wheel at a business on Tecumseh Road.
Upon speaking with a driver, it became apparent they had consumed an alcoholic beverage.
The driver was arrested for impaired operation and transported to a Lambton OPP detachment where they provided two samples over the legal limit.
A 45-year-old Ancaster Township resident has been charged with the following:
– Operation While Impaired,
– Operation While Impaired – Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 Plus) and,
– Operation while Prohibited under the Criminal Code.
The accused has been released and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice at a later date.
OPP officials allege: On May 15, 2023, at approximately 3:20 p.m., an officer with the Chatham Detachment stopped a passenger vehicle on the eastbound Highway 401, Municipality of Chatham-Kent, for travelling more than 55 Km/h over the posted speed limit.
As a result of the investigation, a 34-year-old of Windsor was charged with the:
– Drive motor vehicle – Perform Stunt – Excessive Speed
OPP officials allege: On May 17, 2023, at approximately 6:53 p.m., an officer with the Chatham Detachment stopped a passenger vehicle on the eastbound Highway 401, Municipality of Chatham-Kent, for travelling more than 65 Km/h over the posted speed limit.
As a result of the investigation, a 26-year-old of Mount Brydges was charged with the:
– Drive motor vehicle – Perform Stunt – Excessive Speed
OPP officials allege: On May 17, 2023, at approximately 8:24 p.m., an officer with the Chatham Detachment stopped a passenger vehicle on the eastbound Highway 401, Municipality of Chatham-Kent, for travelling more than 50 Km/h over the posted speed limit.
As a result of the investigation, a 24-year-old of Toronto was charged with the:
– Drive motor vehicle – Perform Stunt – Excessive Speed
OPP officials allege: On May 18, 2023, at approximately 2:09 p.m., an officer with the Chatham Detachment stopped a commercial motor vehicle (CMV) travelling on the eastbound Highway 401, Municipality of Chatham-Kent, after observing the driver using a cellphone and the vehicle veering onto the shoulder of the road.
As a result of the investigation, the driver, a 23-year-old of Dartmouth, Nova Scotia was charged with:
– Drive – Handheld communication device
– Unsafe move – lane or shoulder
OPP officials allege: On May 21, 2023, at approximately 8:20 p.m., an officer with the Chatham Detachment stopped a passenger vehicle on the westbound Highway 401, Municipality of Chatham-Kent, for travelling more than 60 Km/h over the posted speed limit.
As a result of the investigation, a 24-year-old of Brampton was charged with the:
– Drive motor vehicle – Perform Stunt – Excessive Speed
